What a terrific event AuthorFest 2016 was! Thanks to everyone who came by–and there were a lot of you! It was great to see so many fellow children’s book authors, some from right here in Portland and others from farther afield. I finally got to meet local (to Portland) author Gail Donovan, whose books and launch events my daughter and I have been enjoying for years. After the event, the authors were invited to a luncheon. I had a veggie burger, but those who chose to partake donned bibs and cracked open lobsters. Why is it socially acceptable to wear a bib to eat lobster and not, say, spaghetti? Or a veggie burger? Ketchup has a mind of its own. It’s time we made a change.
