My thanks to everyone at Islandport Press and Greenlight Studio for a terrific book launch event! We had a reading and a signing, plus pizza, cake, and space for the kids to play–all in all, a perfect party!
It was wonderful seeing so many friends and family members there. Azalea, Unschooled is a book about finding community, and it meant a lot to me to have so many members of my community turn out to support the book. Here are some pictures!
Azalea, Unschooled‘s author Liza Kleinman and illustrator Brook Gideon meet at last!
Our Islandport Press editor Melissa Kim made the introduction…
I got to introduce illustrator Brook Gideon to friends!
We signed lots of books.
Kids got to (illegally) scale the walls…
…while the grown-ups had fun.
And thanks to photographer, Linda, who came out from behind the camera!
It was a huge success! I’m so glad I brought my camera and captured images of this special day for Liza Kleinman.
This is so well written. Although it’s a children’s book, not for a minute does it feel “dumbed’ down. It’s thought provoking and takes you on a journey that has some very clever twists.
I bought copies for my great nieces. I can’t wait for them to experience this fun ride!
